ALBANY MAYOR JENNINGS ANNOUNCES DETAILS FOR “MAYOR’S FALL DROP OFF” COMMUNITY EVENT

Collecting new winter clothing items for Albany kids!

Albany, NY – Mayor Jerry Jennings has announced the details of the 6th annual Mayor’s Fall Drop Off, a community-based program designed to collect new winter clothing items for needy school-aged children in Albany. The City of Albany is proud to partner with the Albany Devils Hockey organization, Lodge’s Department Store and Burke Companies in serving this worthy cause.

This year’s program will take place at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Albany Devils vs. the Adirondack Phantoms hockey game at the Times Union Center. Residents of the Capital Region are encouraged to “drop off” NEW mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, coats or cash donations at the game. Those donating either a new coat or a $20 cash donation will receive a voucher for free admission to a future Devils home game and will be entered to win a grand prize.

Those unable to attend the event may drop off winter clothing items or monetary donations at Lodge’s Department Store, Albany City Hall, or the offices of the Downtown, Central Avenue & Lark Street BIDs throughout the month of October. All monetary donations will be used to purchase new coats.

Longtime supporters of the Mayor’s Fall Drop Off, B. Lodge & Company and Burke Companies, also announced major contributions to the program. Lodge’s Department Store, located at 75 N. Pearl Street in downtown Albany, will offer significant discounts on clothing items purchased for the Fall Drop Off. Burke Companies will match all cash donations for the Fall Drop Off up to $5000.

Donations may also be mailed to:
