Community Outreach

Reimagine I-787 Community Outreach Center located at 125 State St in  Albany

·       provide information about the effort to remake the I-787 roadway

·       serve as a center for public engagement on the project, which aims to update the corridor in Albany County and its proximity to the Hudson River.

Visitors to the Reimagine I-787 Outreach Center can review conceptual designs, talk with a project team and provide feedback.

The center will be open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursday.

Love Your Block is offering emergency preparedness across Albany by raising awareness and connecting residents, particularly those in historically red and yellow lined neighborhoods, with resources. 

Our high priority neighborhoods and streets include: 

  • Arbor hills: Clinton Avenue/Henry Johnson Blvd/ Lark Street
  • South End: S Pearl Street, Second & Third Avenue/ Broad Street
  • North Albany: N Pearl Street/ Broadway 
  • West Hill:  Quail Street/ Lexington Avenue/ Judson Street 

Residents outside of these target areas are more than welcome to apply and attend our Emergency Preparedness Classes in partnership with the Red Cross. 

This class will teach residents what to do in a disaster scenario such as 

  • Flooding
  • Hurricanes 
  • Tornados 
  • Extreme heat 
  • Snowstorms
  • And more

All kit recipients are required to attend one of our upcoming "Be Red Cross Ready" emergency preparedness classes taught by the Red Cross in order to receive the kit upon class completion. All relevant details, including schedules and locations, are included in the flyers attached to the email. To sign up, use our QR to fill out the JotForm attached or email myself or Erin Johanns.

  • Hand-warmers
  • Face masks 
  • Flashlight
  • Rain Ponchos
  • Emergency Blanket 
  • First Aid Kit 
  • Emergency Water
  • Multi-tool
