Opening , Community Concerns, Announcements (6:00pm-6:30pm)
 
South End Community Collaborative (6:30pm-8:00pm)
A coalition of South End residents and organizations working together in the South End,  to align our goals and work together to improve our community.  There are four workgroups devoted to specific areas:  Youth & Community Development , Environmental Justice & Health, Workforce Development, Housing & Development.   Our mission is to "engage and mobilize our community to create radical, effective change". We are inviting anyone in the community to attend and be a part of this group so we can work together to make the South End better for all of us!

The following topics will be discussed:
  • Request to city for resources to address South Pearl issues, possible report from city officials.
  • DMV building follow-up, including status of gas station.
  • Lincoln Park planning process (see report on October 9 meeting). Next meeting scheduled for November 27. Where should it be held?
  • Grocery Store: The Carey Institute for Global Good has submitted planning proposal to EPA.
  • Employment work group: Update on Construction trades training program.
  • Housing and Development work group
  • Health and Environmental Justice Work Group.
  • Public Safety issues. Proposal to request city to post and fill second South End beat cop position.
  •  
  • Youth and Community Work Group.
  • Other announcements and concerns.

Lincoln Park Master Plan Needs Your Attention!!  From swimming in the pool to partying in the bowl, Lincoln Park is near and dear to the South End.  The City of Albany is starting a planning process to reimagine Lincoln Park, as a Resident of the South End you should be involved in these discussions.
